Big block Chevy |
Only $13,500OBO |
This factory big block Chevelle was built during the thrid week of December, 1967, in Fremont CA., and sold new at Fred Bauer Chevrolet in Portland OR. After racking up about 98,000 miles, the second owner- Jeff Rankin- blew up the engine in 1979. He then proceeded to dismantle the car and began a complete restoration. But the project satlled, and the car wound up stored in a South-east Portland neighborhood garage - disassembled and unlicensed for a total of 14 years. Rankin eventually lost interest in the car and sold it in 1989 to a neighbor, Royce Porath Bruce Hammond and Ken Hiller acquired the car from Porath in February, 1994, took it home in boxes and finally completed the ground-up restoration. The replacement engine is extremely close to original, with casting dates codes that are off by only two months. Most everything on the car is new or rebuilt, from the engine and transmission to the front and rear suspensions, brakes and exhaust. In August 1994, the car placed second in class at Super Chevy Show in Seattle out of a field of 11 cars.
